Engine Brace w/ FSTB

Postby LiquidSilverNC » Tue Jun 03, 2014 9:10 am

Hey all,

The description for the Engine Brace states: FITMENT NOTE: Will not fit with many shock tower braces because this item is connecting directly to the passenger side shock tower. Does anyone know what FSTB this is compatible with? I have a Cobalt FSTB and wondering if it will work (or modified) for that. Also it looks like a bracket connects to the engine block via some header bolts, anyone know if the TrackDog header heatshield will get in the way since it has a bracket that connects the same way?

Thanks!

I had the Mazdaspeed FSTB and TrackDog header heat shield with my AWR engine brace. I had to modify the bolt and shim the FSTB for it to work, but it did just fine. BTW - I now have AWR engine mounts and cannot run both in my autocross class, so the brace is for sale.

I'm interested in the brace and thank you for the info. Is your brace the Hard or Soft bushing model? I'm looking for the soft version do to vibration since this is my DD.
