Post by JamesK383 »

Its officially official.

Mazda starts production of new MX-5 Miata in Japan (http://www.autoblog.com/2015/03/05/mazd ... n/#image-1)

does that mean CARB testing can begin?

Brian,

Could a 2.5 swap ever be legal in CA?

Lots of customers already have done 2.5 swap and passed smog. It's a stock motor, so it looks stock. As long as you retain all the smog equipment and stock intake, no shop will notice or care.

Hi Brian, I'm sure you get this question every day but... any progress on the CARB approval? I am mostly interested in a time-line estimate for the street header.

Thanks a lot for the great job you're doing!

I spent the last two days at the factory working on CARB NC midpipe and CARB NC catted Header...but before anybody gets excited it still could easily be another 2 years before it gets done. The reason is that we worked test fitments of the cores we think will pass, working them into our existing JIGS, that's the easy part. The process of the state doing what it does on its end could easily take another year or two.

Thank you for this fresh update. I'm sure not a lot of people knows what's involved in this process and thanks for pointing out that it can be very long, no matter how good you do your part. We'll keep our fingers crossed...

Any further update as the process moves forward will always be appreciated, and we know you're already doing your best so thank you again for all the efforts and the great communication!
