To wing, or not to wing?

Now mind you, this will be in several months time, after numerous modifications, but I'm considering a wing.
This car is going to be an AutoX, light track, but mostly DD.
But, will I see any significant gains over not having one?
Are there any disadvantages to having one?

It can certainly be effective for both autocross and track.

The downside is more drag (less straight line speed). At faster tracks you might cut your top speed by 10mph with a wing, but if the rest of the car is setup properly your overall lap time is faster because your average speed in the turns can be quite a bit more. Note this assumes balance of both mechanical grip and aero (you need front splitter that balances impact of the rear wing).

The other downside on the daily driver is it looks pretty ricey for street use, which is why many wing users have it removable and bolt it up just for weekend autocross and track events.
