Koni Sport Help

Hey everyone,
I'm new to the Miata scene, so please every bare with me. My Koni Yellows just came in this morning and I laid them out in the garage to start putting everything together. When I came back to the garage I find my son with the adjustment tool just wrenching away on one of the rear shocks. Obviously not having matching settings poses a problem, so my question is does anyone have a good way to get it back? Do I just max out both shocks one way and adjust from there? Thanks for the help everyone!
