ND Header Coating?

Brian, will the new GWR header for the ND be ceramic-coated (inside)? If not, would having it coated by Jet-Hot cause any performance or intallation issues?

Same as NC versions, will offer it without coating and with coating.

Hi,
Great, I noticed that the roadstersport max power ND SS header is now available as prepay. Will you also be adding the ceramic version as prepay and can you provide a estimated timeframe?

Thanks,
Tony

Standard version just went live for Prepay, my guess is about 30 days until ceramic goes live for prepay.

Thanks Brian. Is there a big difference with the surface heat generated between non coated and coated? If one goes with the non coated header is there something one can do to provide protection to the surrounding rubber components or adapt shield or cover of sorts similar to what the OEM header has?
Regards,

Anthony I believe we covered this in our emails back and forth so I'll copy that here so others have the info:

Big difference in the amount of heat the headers put out into the engine bay between coated and uncoating. The ceramic coating is really by far the most effective solution - anything else like heat shields still allows the heat to leave the headers, they just attempt to deflect that heat away from vital components, but the engine bay ambient temperature still rises dramatically overall. The coating doesn't allows nearly as much heat to radiate off the header in the first place.

I'll also add that on NC we see the ceramic coating good for that last couple extra HP on the dyno, and expect the ND to show the same.

I had purchased the non-coated version, are there any special precautions? I know I can't use the heat shield, I dont think anything is too close to melt off but wanted to hear from you guys

Nothing needs to be done, stainless is already very thermally efficient. The only other thing that could be done besides ceramic coating is use one of our header heat shields. We have them in NA/NB/NC sections of the site, have not had the chance to check fitment on ND but fitment should be the same.
