Hi Brian,

Very interested in your new Twin Tip Super Street exhaust for the ND. I understand we will be able to order in the near future and that they should be shipping in a month's time roughly.

I have a couple of questions:

How do you find the overall tone and volume of the twin tip compares to the single Super Sport?
Given the success (and I believe popularity) of the twin tip to meeting your goals for a system do you anticipate doing a twin tip design for the Super Q for the ND?

Thanks for all your work Brian!

Starting volume very similar between single and twin tip SuperStreet. Tone is a bit deeper on the twin. And use of the baffles will muffle down the volume on the twin quite a bit more simply because so much more glass can be added by the end user.

Might still do twin tip Q down the line, have had prototype since August. Will see...

Brian,

I ordered my Twin Tip today!

I believe I read somewhere that the packed baffles that fit are already in stock.

Is that right?

UPDATE: Just found them!

Just curious...

Did you end up going with the chromed or brushed tips?

We did polished, same as all our other RoadsterSport choices.

Hello,

I'm new to the forum and to Miata's and am thinking very seriously about the Twin Tip as a first fun modification. For what it's worth, I'm not interested in any sort of competition and don't currently plan add a header. Probably some sway bars and that may be it.

I believe it has been stated in various places that the Super Street is roughly 35% louder than stock while the Super-Q is about 15% louder. Given the Twin-Tip is roughly the same volume as the Super Street coming out of the box, and it has been stated that it can be muffled a bit more then the Super Street because to the two tips, is it safe to assume that, if desired, which I'm not at all sure it would be, the Twin-Tip could be dropped to perhaps 20-25% louder than stock?

Also, if I understand correctly, the Twin-Tip has a bit lower note than the Super Street (which I like!), and that installing a baffle in the left tip will drop that note even more. Is it safe to assume that installing an optional packed baffle would drop the note more still?

Edit: Also, regarding the Super-Q. Is the 15% louder than stock with the baffle installed? And if so, how much louder is it without the baffle? 20-25%?

Thanks!
Jim

The baffles make small adjustments, though on the twin they will have more impact than on the singles because you can use two of them. The use of two in the twin won't get sound level down to the level of the SuperQ because total muffler size still much smaller, but difference is very noticeable.

Hi Brian,

I know that the manufacturer has been updating the Twin Tip SS exhaust of late. I have my order in already. I am assuming the possibility of a July 1st ship date is no longer applicable. Any idea on the new ship dates?

Thanks!
