Brian,

how much does the supercharger effect fuel mileage? I put a Magnacharger on my 5.3L Silverado and mileage dropped from 20 to 15. Just curious, I still want to supercharger my Miata.

Averaged 33 on last road trip....with plenty of my typical aggressive driving and passing.

Mike of MOTOEAST in our RF...on the DYNO.

We hosted Mike of Motoeast for several days last week, he drove the RF, tuned it, dyno time, etc. Got him a good start on what he needs for his own tune. One thing I don't like with the Edelbrock tune is religious devotion to stock redline, which I understand is all about the warranty. Mike got it on the dyno and it was a blast to see it run up to 7350 rpms....at which point he got more peak hp on 91 octane than I had previously seen on our dyno, with a lot more area under the curve at that extended top end. Mike still has a bunch of work he wants to do on that tune, but several days of time in the car and he was making fast progress. So, the hardware is gorgeous and bullet proof in our experience.....and all the Tuners are getting the tune integration better and better.

SOLO Supercharged Road Trip...

Post by Andi, AKA "the wife"!
AdventureRF1.jpg
My annual pilgrimage to meet my Mom and friends in Los Olivos near Santa Barbara, drove my RF again but supercharged this time and man what a difference the power makes!

Last year the drive was fun, this year the ride was freaking fantastic. No huge difference in basic driveability, not a pain in bumper to bumper through LA, but when I wanted to pass or make a move I had all the confidence I needed.

Tons of power charging up the mountain to get from Santa Barbara to Los Olivos on beautiful windy roads, tons of passing power, and I love the exhaust....sounds great top up to top down.

Definitely wife approved!!!

Unrelated news, that bit of trim is funny regulation stuff.

Hi Brian,

Just wondering how is the Wilwood 12.19” rotors holding up?

Any thoughts of going to your 12.88” rotors or the 6 pod calipers?

The 12.19 kit has worked out perfect, lots of mountain and fast canyon driving on it now and no issues, it was the perfect upgrade for the mission of this project as highspeed GT. Thus, no thoughts of going up to the 12.88 kit, it would be overkill.

On a follow up question, which pads are you using front and rear?

Thanks
