wheel/tire shopping for 7 months. help!!

Post by vegeta »

I've been researching since I bought my 09 GT last summer and still can't decide. I don't autocross or track, but I do like to drive it like I stole it when I hit the back roads. I would like to avoid fender rolling if I can. Ride comfort isn't super important. I rarely drive the car. And never drive in wet conditions. So these are what I've come up with so far.

17x7.5. +45 215/45

17x8 +45 225/45

17x8+50. 235/40. But I hate selection and price of this tire.

Or just go all out and do 17x9+45 245/40?

Warm weather will be here soon and its time to make a decision. Thanks in advance.

For a street toy you want to toss around and have fun with, my suggestion is your first on the list: 17x7.5. +45 215/45

We have a 17x7.5 215/45 with 48 offset on my wife's 2012 and she loves that combo....and I find it just right for a toss around town.

215 tires are the best tire for the money you will find too.

they are cheaper than 205 and way cheaper than 225+

you can save enough money on 4 tires to pay for one of your new wheels
