NC Miata Whiteline Front A Arm Offset bushing instal

Post by 9432752 »

I am trying to press in some Whiteline offset Front Upper A arm bushings. It has an enlarged area that is somehow supposed to go through the A arm. I cannot get it to go though - it just bunches up and deforms. It looks to me like it should be a two piece bushing that presses in from either side. Does anyone have any experience with these bushings. Thanks

I was able to get them in. There is a metal sleeve inside the arms that had to be pressed out. That opened the hole slightly. I then put the smaller end in very hot water, then put dish soap on it . It still took about 5 tries each a lots of bad words but they went in. The machine shop said there was no way I would be able to get them in without cutting them in half. I don't understand why they are designed as one piece.

Good word there, I asked head mechanic Rocky here and he had indeed only put other brands in, not that one.
