Race mid-pipe install

Post by SimplyClean »

I just received my racing beat mid-pipe (the race one) and it came with 2 strange gaskets, I'm guessing these are the slip joints. Do I use these like regular gaskets? Also, It is unclear on how to remove the bolts that connect to the header, do these just remove like regular bolts, but are strange because they have the springs? And do I re-use these strange bolts, or do I use the new ones provided? Sorry for all the questions, I am new to modifications

Update: I realize now that the bolts that it came with are for the middle section. So are these sprung bolts any different than regular bolts aside from their spring pressure?

For some background, I haven't attempted to put the mid pipe on yet, but I put on the race muffler in like 10 minutes. I always overthink things and are these sprung bolts are the only part that I'm really concerned about

See our notes on RoadsterSport Midpipe install regarding the springs and other details....but in brief you are duplicating the stock install and those gaskets supplied with the Racing Beat are the same Japanese style you will find in there when you open it up so it will all be pretty obvious when you do it.

Okay, I got it all on super easy, only took about 45 minutes to an hour, except now, the flange in the middle is vibrating on the x brace, any solutions?

With Midpipes that use a middle slip joint like our RoadsterSport we just adjust it shorter to raise it higher. Otherwise, you need to shim down the brace with some washers to add clearance.
