As far as gear, all I need is a DOT approved helmet, right?
Helmet needs to be latest Snell automotive standard, but they even have a few loaner helmets if your helmet is not current.

Came to this thread late, but following with great interest. I have a 2010 PRHT as my daily driver. I run in STR, but I am firmly committed to the idea that any performance upgrades must be tempered with every day livability.

Excited to see front lip spoiler when it happens.

Brian,

How much is the outside diameter of the new rolled tips on your mufflers?

Brian, what was the primary driver behind changing to rolled tips? Customer feedback and demand I presume? I've always really like the original tips, but I may be in the minority.

I too like our classic modest tips, but indeed we have long had requests for a rolled tip but when we looked around at the choices we didn't like that the rolled tips used by competitors are all very heavy...as much as five pounds each! It's a philosophical point for my hot rod racer's brain that we just can't make a 'performance' muffler that is heavier than stock yet most of our competitors are making mufflers that are heavier than stock (FM, Racing Beat, etc). For years we did nothing on this because the tooling didn't exist to make a nice rolled tip that is as light as the tips we have been using. But...now the tooling does exist. So, it took waiting for better tooling and an investment in new equipment but now we have nice rolled tips that do not add weight.

Ok, no worries. I'm in no hurry. I won't be doing anything until I do the suspension (saving for that).

They do look more factory-like and they fill out the cut-outs well. Kudos to you for listening to your customers, but I'm still likin' the old tips. And I'll bet the old ones make my car go faster.
