Alignment

Post by Birddog »

New owner , 2012 Sport 6sp AT , 26k , wearing factory tires which I plan to replace this week with Continental ExtremeContact DWS 205/50ZR16 , unless there is a better option . This is the wife's DD , 2.5 mile round trip , most other driving will be streets some mountain driving in Red River Gorge & Smokies . Car is under warranty for the next 5 years . I think springs , sway bars & shocks will be changed down the road . We have had the car 10 days and are having a ball , I turn 63 in August , she turns 60 this fall . Together we weigh less than 300 lbs , driver will never exceed 150 , luggage will never add more than 25lbs and we are always together other than her DD . What would a good set of alignment numbers to give the shop look like ? What kind of spring , shock , & sway set-up should I be looking at ?

Welcome!

Start with looking at my wife's Daily Driver which is our 2012 Project Car by clicking THIS LINK.

At that link you can scroll down the page and see everything on her car including our Progress Springs and once you click your way into the Progress Springs you will find lots more information including our recommended starting alignment settings.

95% street driving on stock 2012 Sport , with no upgrades . 1/32 toe in , front & rear . -1.2 Camber front & rear , 5 caster . Would this be a good starting point ? First upgrade will be sways , does the alignment need changing then ?

yes, good starting point.

Sway swap does not change alignment.
