Looks pretty cool. I wonder how much that mechanism weighs compared to the soft top. If the top panel is aluminum, it's probably not that much heavier.
Looks like a SmartTop might not be the best idea for the ND-RF, though. I'd hate to see how hard it is to get that folding mechanism aligned properly again if wind tweaks it because you're operating it at speed.

Yes I managed to watch the reveal in NY. Quite impressive. I like the Targa look and I'm sure it won't be long before Mods4Cars has a way to break the 6 MPH limitation of the RF.Brian wrote:I don't know yet....but the video reveal at New York Auto Show is just minutes away.Reitrof wrote:Interesting, what does it look like from the rear?
Still waiting to see the specs and pricing. I assume there is still the central roof latch as in the NC.

Re: ND-RF ...Factory TARGA ND Miata!
Estimates of added weight vary from 150 to 200 lbs, but nothing official from Mazda. Sure is a looker, but probably mostly for the touring / GT crowd, as that's a lot of weight up high for the performance crowd. Still, I expect it will appeal to a wider audience and add to overall sales, which is good for all of us.
