I finally did it, I pulled the trigger on the new long tube header for my ND. I also purchased the EcuTek programming kit and tune to use when the long tube comes in. Needless to say I am extremely excited!! But also trying to stay somewhat calm since I know I have a decent wait time
When it does come in I will be driving from Phoenix, AZ to have Rocky do the install and tune. I kind of wanted to try the install myself, but having Rocky do it was one of my wife's concessions for letting me spend money (you know you need to get permission too )
Thanks to Good-win-racing for offering us such an incredible option!
Long Tube you will be mine!
Re: Long Tube you will be mine!
You get to make up for spending money, by spending MORE? You should open a training school for guys!
Re: Long Tube you will be mine!
No No No, he won't be spending MORE by letting Rocky do it, he will spend much much LESS. The wife has lived with him for a long long time and knows the drill by now.
Congrats on the new Long Tube header!

Clearly I need lessons in this technology.morrisg wrote:No No No, he won't be spending MORE by letting Rocky do it, he will spend much much LESS. The wife has lived with him for a long long time and knows the drill by now.

What, you don't know how to screw up something you don't want to do? And you've been married for how long? Must have seemed much longer, eh?
Re: Long Tube you will be mine!
Well...
A. I'm not married, although operationally it's pretty similar. About 27 years now.
B. The OP said he wanted to do it himself, not have an excuse to offload it.
C. I do know how to screw up. I've even got some practice at it. But doing something (screwing up) to avoid doing something seems sort of counter-productive, doesn't it?

Re: Long Tube you will be mine!
Sorry, my joking voice doesn't come through the keyboard very well. I too noted that his wife's requirement for professional install if he was going to spend the money seemed very generous of her. But then she knows him much better than we do!
Congrats to beardedstealth for stepping up to the Long Tube Header and a tune to make the most from it. I know how much I like the PPE Long Tube Header in my NC with a tune, it really makes the car much better having more power. And OVT breaking 190 whp with the tune is awesome!

Re: Long Tube you will be mine!
A sad day...
Unexpected health issues have put me on FMLA status so I had to cancel my preorder. Wouldn't be prudent to be spending several thousand dollars while dealing with medical bills.
With that said, I wish I wasn't prudent because man am I bummed.
Looking forward to living vicariously through some of you until I can put the cash back together again.

Sorry to hear. I recently compared my acceleration over a known course before and after my long-tube headers, and the difference really surprised me. I hope you will soon enjoy the upgrade.
