Staggered Wheel Setup

Post by markpav »

Does a staggered (narrow front, wider rear diameter) wheel setup improve the handling of an MX5? I'm planning a purchase of an NC or ND and am putting together my fantasy build spec. This would be for general "spirited driving" plus some occasional autocross and track work.

Staggered setup on Miata is a massive no-no...screws up the handling...result is hopeless plowing understeer.

All the fast guys run square...which means same size all around.

Does a staggered wheel setup help handling with any small sports car?

Cars with huge rear weight bias, like air-cooled Porsches.
