also with the 205/50/15 wouldnt the car sit higher up because the sidewall of 50 is an aspect ratio (percentage) of the width? Higher center of gravity=worse handling? Non-issue?

Thank,
Mark

Difference so little as to be non-issue.

Alright Brian, after bugging you with my questions I've decided to pull the trigger. If I buy these when can I pick them up? Are saturday or sundays an option?

Thanks,
Mark

Usually racing on the weekends. Looks like I have events Saturday and Sunday this week but likely Steve is at the shop for pickup 10-3 Saturday...I would need to check with him. Email me direct for details. What local customers usually do is order through the website and use one of the extra address lines to add "SHOP PICKUP". That causes the wheels to move from the warehouse to the shop and we cancel the shipping charge.

I only needed 2 new tires when I bought the rims so i bought a new set of 205's but kept the stock 195's up front. I don't plan on keeping the staggered tires but i didnt want to buy 4 new tires if i didnt have to. When I need new fronts im probably going 205's. Can you tell the difference?

That looks awesome. I would like the same wheel for my track/autox set-up. What offset are those? I assume the fenders had to be rolled in the rear. Anything needed in the front to make them fit? Thanks!

SJD, 45mm offset. Yes, rears are rolled. I still rub under heavy compression. I rub in the front but i'm only hitting the plastic lining. What i really need is a set of coilovers and more alignment tweaking.

That's great to know. Thanks!

Last season I ran coilovers and -2.0 degrees of negative camber all around. I ran a 215/40/17 Kumho V710 and a 235/40/17 Toyo R888 and had no rubbing issues at all but these were on 7 inch and 7.5 inch wide rims. My fenders aren't rolled (yet). I want to go to a 9 inch wide wheel so I can get more rubber on the road by moving to a 245/40/17.

Im looking for an aggressive fitment for my NC. I was thinking 17x9 with either +17, +28, or +38. I am aware that i will have to do a bit of fender work, such as my 18x9 + 38 didnt fit because they had 255/35 on stock fenders which werent rolled at all. What would be a good MILD stretch for the tires? How would i get this to work, im on Sportlines right now and will be upgrading to coilovers in a couple of months.

So im guessing that 17x9 +17, +28 or+38 would require substantial roll and pull + camber to fit correctly?

Yep... I have a set of 17x10, 38mm... but they only fit with flares.

Brian,

I am interested in getting a set of RPF-1's in 17x8 (+45 ) and putting on either 215/45 or 215/40 tires. I am lowered on the Mazdaspeed/Eibach springs.

I'd like to know if I would have any clearance/rubbing issues with this setup? I don't want to get into rolling my fenders. All the previous posts in this thread indicate that I wouldn't have an issue, but I'd like to be sure.

If I would have an issue with the 17x8's, would the 17x7.5's (+48 ) be suitable? I currently have the stock 16x6.5 wheels, and if I'm going to upsize my wheels/tires, I'd rather have the 8's, but the 7.5's wouldn't be a bad option either. The calculations I've made show that the 8" wheels would stick out 29mm more than my current wheels, or 23mm more than the stock 17" wheels. That seems like an awful lot of wheel to get in without rubbing.

The car will be street driven the vast majority of the time.

Thanks.
