I was doing a little research and it says that in order to used the module on another vehicle,the present vehicle which it is stored on must be returned to factory settings.Not doing so,when trying to install on another vehicle an error comes up saying the module is VIN LOCKED ( Vehicle Identification Number ) to the vehicle it was installed on of course.

that is exactly right. It is removed from my car and will work on any 08+ MX5. It will not work on a 06 or 07.
