Waiting patiently to place my order
2.5" piping should support 230 hp or so before it starts becoming even slightly restrictive, so the standard RS midpipe and muffler options should be fine for normally aspirated 2.5L setups. The only time you might want to jump to a 3" setup would be either a pretty high boost 2.0L turbo or a supercharged 2.5L.
New header looks awesome, Brian! It's great that you're taking the time to really test out all the options to really make the 2.5L a worthwhile swap!
Brian - How would the 2.5 swap work with an automatic transmission NC? Are the header and other exhaust pieces included in the 2.5 package? Seems to be a good alternative to supercharger (good gains for less cash).
If I went with a used motor, what model and year Mazda would I be looking for?
Nothing included with the 2.5 conversion, many customers already have headers and intakes that transfer over. Yes, works with automatic, nice extra bump in torque everywhere. See details in the Miata.net 2.5 conversion threads....there's hours of reading in those threads with the details on which Mazda/Ford models can be sources for the motor.
