Shifter

Since I'm sweating to death in the 112 degree heat might as well try to fix everything!!! My shifter knob makes the most horrendous sound - it's like a rattle on steroids - sometimes holding onto it works - sometimes that makes it worse. If i ordered a shifter and boot - would that fix my problem? How difficult is this to do?? By the way I do not have my original shifter on there. My ex was a mechanic - the car outlived the relationship.

Could be as simple as the shift knob itself. I have seen shift knobs that are not machined for the right size threads and use an adapter collar for install and the whole thing vibrates horribly. I saw one here recently, nice MOMO shift knob but didn't fit correctly on this car....we replaced with a Voodoo knob and problem was solved.

So, can you tell if it is the knob itself? For example, it is rattling on the collar that holds it in place? Or does it seem like the rattle is coming the other end of the stick....down in the boot?

the shift knob itself seems to be rattling - and its really tall so i know it wasnt made for this car

That's good, same issue I mentioned with Momo knob above...easily fixed.

You can get a stock knob or one of our Voodoo Knobs and either one should fix the issue. You install by grabbing that knob with both hands and unscrewing it counter clockwise....then clockwise spin on proper knob.
