Cosworth S/C installation WITHOUT A/C

Post by v67gsr »

Can anyone give some guidance on how to install the drive belt for S/C without A/C pump in place?

This is a tricky question because as far as i know all US models come with A/C but in Canada A/C is an option. My car for example does not equip with A/C (useless dead weight for me at least). Problem is, Cosworth S/C is designed for engine with A/C in place. My Canadian model without A/C will have one less pulley and therefore the belt came with the S/C will be too long. On top of that the belt routing will not be the same as what Cosworth has written down in the installation instruction.

Any help will be appreciated.

We took the A/C off our supercharged 07. I have a belt diagram and some notes from when we did it. Will try and get those posted soon.

Looking forward to see your info.

My plan is to install the S/C the coming weekend. Would be great if I can solve this problem before hand so I can prepare for a smooth installation.

Hi Brian. The frend of mine is thinking about cosworth supercharger. In this case I have a couple of questions. Could it be properly installed to stock engine? Is there any point to upgrade an exhaust system and cams? and is it ready for shipping or you need substantial time for delivery?
Tnx

It can be installed on stock engine.

There are substantial additional gains from adding a full exhaust with header (see dyno thread a few pages deeper).

We are currently sold out, hope to have more kits soon.
