NC Soft Top Removal
NC Soft Top Removal
Does anyone have a thread on the complete removal of the soft top. I'd just like to know what's involved prior to starting this project and, if I'll need help to remove it.

Re: NC Soft Top Removal
There are 2 rivet type of studs that needs to be grind out on each side of the top near the seat belt tower. Other than that, a lot of clips and fasteners and simple hand tool will do the job. If you plan to keep all the plastic panels, take pictures as you go so you know how they fit back together (since some overlaps one another).
I remember removing the bulkhead plastics, remove OEM roll bar, remove top. With roll bar out of the way, you have so much more room.

You might want to check miata.net. I'm sure someone there has posted something.

Re: NC Soft Top Removal
Just changed my soft top.
Other than the removal of pretty much everything behind the seats it's pretty easy.
That rivet that was mentioned was a plastic for tree plug on my 2006.
It can be pulled quite easily and refitted by sliding your hand down outside right along the seam line.
