I am going to do a 2.5L swap into my 07 MX-5 track car.
I have read a lot of whats posted on the net about swap but have a question.
looking on ebay at engines it looks like they list the 2009-2012 fusion (etc) as a group.
And the 2013-14 engines together.
For the swap are these engines the same?? What to look for in vin 8th digit A or 7 ???

If it's the same as the 2.3L, all Ford variants (Duratec is MZR, but not) will not have VVT and you're probably going to have to swap the harmonic balancer.
Every time I did my 2.3 or 2.5 swaps, I just stuck with Mazda motors. Easier to put in.
As for the years, anything post-2008 will do. Forged internals. :3

Now getting started on my 2.5 build.
Wanted to know if an 09 or 2012 mazda 6 2.5 would work?
Or only mazda 3's.Any benefits of running either?
