[NB] Tein coilover choice for 95% street use (street flex?)

Hi all,

Looking for some testimonials and/or experiences for the Tein Street Flex coilovers for the NB miata. I've seen a few from miata.net and elsewhere, but have also heard some horror stories. Not sure if it all boiled down to properly setting preload which I'm still currently learning more about. I always thought Tein was a fairly reputable and quality maker.

I'm looking for a setup for 95% spirited streeting on Western Canadian roads (SUMMER ONLY CAR), and will be doing some casual open track lapping and autoX. As for as aesthetics go, looking for a modest drop in ride height (12.75-13"). Budget is around the < $1500 but depending on what I'll be getting out of it. Will also be getting sways.

Additionally, Brian, do you recommend end links to go with these? What are your recommendations for a suspension or coilovers setup for this application? It is a '99 NB with existing sport suspension (hard S) it is the 10th anniv edition.

Thanks in advance all!

I like the TEIN choice for 95% street use and 5% track toy. There are some old forum comments from many years ago where I didn't like the Tein product of the time...but they have been through two complete re-designs since that time and the current offerings are solid bang for the buck choices. I have driven them both for autocross and track days and easily obtained good lap times.

Any of the links we have will work, just depends on how serious you want them. For 95% street toy the Racing Beat links will be fine.
