I just bought a 2006 MX-5 Grand Touring they have DGR sport coilovers. I need to replace them due to one or two are blown out.

I have purchased Koni Sport shocks front and rear with the progressive springs. What else will I need to purchase for installation?

This is also my first time messing with the suspension of a car. Thank you for your help.

I also want to know do the konis come with top hats, or can I reuse the aftermarket DGR ones.

Since we have never seen those coilovers here we can't tell you if they can work with the shaft diameter of the Koni....try an assembly on the desktop first.

What is your bumpstop plan? See our FCM stops for lowered cars with that combo.

What are bumpstops and why are they necessary?

Bumpstops are what you hit when you run out of travel. ..and this car is designed to corner on the stops.

In going lower you want shorter stops that are firmer and better matched to higher rate lowering springs

Well after inspecting mine, I plan to reuse them as they are in good shape.

Okay...they are a bit soft and long.

My suggestion is trim them shorter so you don't ride them all the time...you want a bit of free travel before you hit them. They look like a few stacked donuts...and I would trim off the smallest single donut.
