2013 NC Club handling

So a guy in a 2006 NC keeps beating me by 2 seconds, in a 45 second AX. I also consistently beat all but 1 S-2000 (guy runs in expert class, and someone else is driving his car in STR). I have National experience, and have placed twice in the top 6 (in a 45 car class). So I don't think it's my driving skills. Here's my set-up. 2013 Club soft top, 17x9's, 245 RE-71R's, FM front sway, Racing Beat rear sway, Ohlins, Dynotronics Tune, PPE Long Tube Header & mid-pipe, GWR Roadster Sport Q muffler. About the only think I'm thinking is chassis bracing and/or corner balancing. What do you think I'll get the most improvement on: Cobalt front brace (replace the stock Club shock brade); or under car stiffening? Which one or ones? Any other thoughts? I'm open to suggestions. I've seen rear shock tower braces too......can it be too stiff?

Braces tighten feel of the car, reduce NVH, but don't make it faster so don't do those for speed. Ideally do overlay of data with the guy beating you, best way to figure out where you are giving up the time. I do it with friends here, lot's of friendly fun and very educational to see where time is lost to the other guy. I notice you didn't get into your alignment but that's one place where you could be 2 seconds off the game, typically need offset bushings to get the ideal camber at the front for those tires, etc. Didn't mention spring rate but if smooth surface then might need more rate on the Ohlins for faster response by the suspension or you might be giving up precious time in transitions.

I may get the higher rate Ohlin springs (do you have these?), but definitely want the offset bushings (which ones?) for the upper control arm. How difficult is it to DIY install these, or how much would it cost to have them installed? I know I'll need another alignment, but I have a mechanic who aligns to my specs for $80.

Yes, we offer Swift springs to upgrade rate on the Ohlins. This swap is easy.

We have the Whiteline offset bushings on the site. As for install, don't want to kid you, pain in the ass to press and/or dig and/or burn out the old and press in the new. Consider having a shop do it.

You are missing two things: higher rate springs on the Ohlins and the OS Giken LSD. My 2009 NC used 9k Swift front springs and 7k Tein tapered rear springs and they worked well with the Ohlins. Also, you must set the ride height as low as you can stand it to reduce roll. I was at 310mm from hub center to top of the fender arch. At that height, you will scrape the bottom over speed bumps at anything above 5 mph.

The OS Giken is a must for putting power down on corner exits, you won't believe how much earlier you will be able to squeeze the throttle down and how smooth the lock / unlock is. Worth every penny.

Also, I don't know about the balance of your bars, but on mine we used the Racing Beat front bar set to medium and Eibach rear set to soft. This resulted in a very planted rear with little to no oversteer, yet the car would tuck in nicely on throttle lift mid-corner if you overcooked it.

Everyone's driving style is not the same, so my setup might not be your cup of tea. But the car did perform. At 2012 Nationals, Ryan Otis set top time on the West course even after coning away his fastest run.
