Time for a bespoke NC oil cooler. This prototype has connections both ends, going to add 2 more rows of height so we can get connections on same end and keep our lines shorter for production version, made to slot neatly behind the upper grille opening.

NC1 Nose....from a different angle helps understand the prime source of cooling. Few folks get low enough to notice that Radiator is actually getting most of the cooling air through the big slit across the bottom, the more restrictive half fake grille contributes but is not the prime source.

How do you think it'll fit with the later NC2/2.5 front grill, which doesn't have that open lower section?

Same, all NC are pretty much the same up by the lower lip of the bumper bar where we put it, later cars the grille goes wider and lower but the part directly in front of lower bumper bar edge is the open mesh for all. And we are going to test a few positions, still debating the final location.

On the alignment rack today. We did conservative heights for getting our 255/40 tires in there, 13.25 front, 13.50 rear. With that we got:

Front
Camber -3
Caster 6.5
Toe OUT 1/16th per side

Rear
Camber -2.5
Toe IN 1/16th per side

Great First Competition Day for the Budget Racer!

Almost 100 Competitors...and an NC with a $458 junkyard motor was fastest thing with doors! It was the fastest thing with AC, the fastest thing with a stereo, a roof, air bags, etc. Beat all the Vettes, the various Porsche choices, the turbo Catfish, the Ferarri, lots of expensive stuff. Super proud of this Budget NC, such an amazing car for the money!

We had Top Time of Day until the very last run of a formula car on fresh HOOSIER slicks (pic below), and he only got us by a few tenths of a second. We are on Rival street tires, give us a set of Hoosiers and we could have gone about 1.5 seconds faster on this long course in my experience on this surface. Not bad at all for a budget project that got built super fast and no test/tune to dial in the setup. Full report on the coilovers and how the other bits worked tomorrow.
