Carbon buildup on intake valves

Post by PapaJohn »

So, it looks like the 2013 NC Miatas have direct injection. At what point do these motors need to have the carbon buildup on the intake valves be removed?

Can't say for other versions, but I'm pretty sure the NC variant of the MZR engine does not have direct injection.

You are correct Daniel. The 2013 MZR engine is port injection, the fuel spray is at the back side of the intake valve. Good to know.
