TEIN Flex-Z Coilover Kit???

Post by LeoS619 »

So who has these? Does anyone track them or autox them?

i will daily my car at least 6 months out of the year. i also plan to go to about 3-4 auto x events each summer. there are some fun roads to play on where i live.

i want a coilover that wont brake the bank.

the teins are the cheapest of the 3 sets i am looking at.

tein (817)
Meister crd (995)or club race (1195)
and BC BR(995) or DS (1250)

i have been told that meister and BC are essentially the same thing just rebranded with with different colors. but meister claims different valving.
i am leaning towards the Meister but i have a shop that can hook me up with the BR for 920 and the DS for 1150.

if it helps the plan is to run 17x9s with 245s.

I have driven these choices recently, all decent discount coilovers, the MeisterR ClubRace is my choice of the three and what we are currently racing in our new Budget NC Racer. For whatever reason, the 10/6 spring rate combo on the ClubRace actually rides quite a bit BETTER than the other choices and yet for autocross/track days it is faster too.

At recent event in our project below.

I have a set of the Teins on my 2012 and they worked great for street and autox with the 17x8 and 200 rubber but when I switched to 17x10 and Nito 01's and running HPDE on big track they were just to soft. I'm want to switch to 10k x 6k springs setup so the Tein valving would not work.
I would be willing to sell my Tein set with maybe 2k miles on them, 3 autox and one HPDE race for $600 including shipping. These would work great as a DD, just back off on the valve setting, then reset stiffer for the autox.
