ND1 Caster question

Just installed 225/45r17 Maxxis VR-1 on my Konig HyperGram 17x8 et45 wheels. I have rubbing towards the front of the front wheel well liner in moderate turns and heavy rubbing backing up in a turn. I fixed some of the rubbing by using an heat gun, but not all. Could reducing the positive caster give a larger gap between the front liner and the tire? If so how much would I need to make a difference?

2016 Miata Club w/ brembo package

Alignment:
Front: Camber: -1.8; Toe-in: 1/16" total; Caster: 8.0 degrees
Rear: Camber: -1.8; Toe-in: 1/16" total

Ride Height: 13.25" Front, 13.5" Rear

Suspension:
- Ohlins Road and Track Coilovers (7K/4K)
- Progressive Technologies anti-sway bar set
- whiteline front end links

YES, for cars with 225/45 we usually back the caster down to a range of 5.5 to 6 and that helps a lot.

Any noticeable change in handling?

I couldn't really tell a difference. But I've only taken this car on the track once and it was with the new settings. I did notice that the rubbing was gone and that is really what I was looking to accomplish.
