Monsterflow intake kit dyno results
Some notes on the dyno.
The Miata was our otherwise totally stock 94. The dirty little secret of mods and dyno results is that you can't just add a gain of 10 from the intake and 5 from exhaust and another 10 from a header and think your Miata is going to be 25hp stronger at the wheels! Sorry, it does NOT work that way. If you have already done some exhaust mods your gain from the intake addition will be LESS than what is shown here because you have already gone a long way toward improving the breathing ability of the engine (intake mods are improving the breathing in, exhaust mods are improving the breathing out).
Also, this dyno is useful for owners of 94-97 Miatas and owners of 99-05 Miatas are lucky to get 4-6 from an intake so do not expect these results on the 99 and newer Miatas...Mazda did a better job on the intake on the second generation cars and that means we had less to work with.

I was wondering about the "resonance" chamber the stock miata has, it has been written about on this website:

under the flowmeter section, there is an general explanation. Why did good-win decide to replace the resonance chamber? Did good-win ever try testing their monsterflow intake with the use of this chamber?

The resonance chamber is tuned for the factory box and intake track length. Once that is changed the chamber quickly becomes irrelevant. The flow on the open system far exceeds the factory and as the dyno report shows, there is a gain at all points. Adding back in the chamber gets us nothing...
