One Owner 2009 MX5 Miata Touring 6 Speed Manual Full STR Autox
Price Reduced to $14,500
Purchased new Jan 2010, this 2009 Mazda MX5 Touring has been fully prepared for
STR class autocross competition. National Champion Ryan Otis did the suspension
tuning and set fast time in STR for the West Course at 2012 Nationals, even after
coning his fastest run. It is a superbly balanced car that’s lots of fun! If you're looking
for a more comfortable street ride then just swap out the 9k/7k springs for the Ohlins
7k/4k springs (included) for most of the performance but a supple comfortable street
ride. You can read Brian's comments about this in his NC Ohlins writeup in the Goodwin store.
STR preparation includes:
• OS Giken limited slip differential in diff case (stock Torsen diff in case also)
• Ohlins DFV shocks with 9k/7k (504/392) springs (Swift front, Tein tapered rear)
• PPE Long Tube header and catted midpipe with Goodwin O2 extension cable
• AEM cold air intake modified for legal STR placement
• MotoEast tune, see Dyno Sheet 2 at Moto East Custom In-House Bench Tuning page
• Racing Beat front adjustable sway bar; Eibach rear adjustable sway bar
• Racing Beat front sway bar end links
• Hawk HPS brake pads
• Enkei RPF1 17x9 (15.9 lb) race wheels
• Full fender roll (Eastwood fender roller) allows up to 255/45x17 tires (max STR)
• 7.5 lb Deka ETX9 AGM battery mounting hardware
• Ride height, rake, corner balance, camber and caster settings optimized for autox
Extras / Spares
• Ohlins DFV 7k/4k (392/224) street springs; much better than factory sport suspension
• Racing Beat rear adjustable sway bar
• Custom adjustable sway bar end links (4)
• 3M clear bra full front up to the middle front wheel arches applied when new
• All stock parts removed including factory Torsen LSD in diff case, stock sport
suspension including Bilstein shocks and sport springs assembled to stock hardware
(ready to install), stock sway bars and front end links, stock header with cat and midpipe
exhaust, stock airbox and filter.
• 2009 Mazda MX5 factory service manuals including wiring diagrams (paper set)
• New Robbins top made with Haartz Stayfast dark blue cloth installed in October 2015;
I wrote the installation instructions in the NC Archive section of miata.net.
The car has 55k miles, one owner, no accidents, always full synthetic oil changes with
filter, all fluids full synthetic. Oregon plates are good through Jan 2019.
$14,500 for everything, and no sales tax in Oregon! Hurry as I must sell the car soon
and if no one wants an autox car I will be taking it back to stock and sending it to craigslist!
