ECU readyness

Post by PapaJohn »

How long does it take after a battery change for the ECU to show all monitors ready. 2013 MX5. Thanks, John

Most monitors will run after just a 10 minute drive. Others can be tricky, fuel evaporated monitor will not run if tank is over 80% full or less than 20%. Works best when done from a cold start. Any basic scanner will tell you what is ready and what is not. You can such on line for how to drive to help run and monitor if one is a problem.
On a 2013 model all monitors must be ready or the car WILL fail the smoke test. Other states wand model years will allow one or two to not ready and still pass.
