Selling my car and motorcycle to get a NC MX-5!

Post by rpmchris »

Well, watching this forum for a couple of months has influenced me to get a new or very slightly used MX-5! Consequently, I must sell both my car and motorcycle seen here:

2001 VW Jetta 1.8T Wolfsburg Edition (SOLD!)
http://classifieds.itrustmotors.com//cg ... =retrieval

2004 Buell XB12S Lightning (SOLD!)
http://classifieds.itrustmotors.com//cg ... =retrieval

As you can see, both are modified "just right" for fast fun in the corners and on the straights. If you're interested, or know someone who may be, please contact me either here or through the itrustmotors website.

Thanks, and I look forward to chatting with all of you about my new "project car" soon!

One down, one to go! I sold my Jetta yesterday for $9250 - not bad for a 6-year old car with 85k miles!

Now if I could just sell the Buell...

OK - I'll entertain offers in the area of $6500-7000, and give a $50 "finder's fee" to anyone sending me a buyer! I wanna NC so bad I can taste it!!!

Wish I had permission for the Buell (from the wife). Had 27 or 28 motorcycles...and NONE now. My Miata is my motorcyle now. At least I can ride the Miata without a helmet!

Exactly - when I decided to get a new daily driver, I knew it had to combine the capabilities and "grin factor" of both my car and my bike!

Even with the money I expect to put into the MX-5 for mods, I'll be spending less on gas, insurance, and costs to upgrade (I put an additional $5-6000 into my Jetta, and close to $4000 into my Buell).

I can't freakin' wait!

Too bad I did'nt see this sooner! I bought a new XB12S in January. Awesome bike! Handles great, sounds like a Harley and is otherwise completely unique. So many very innovative hardware parts. It is the ultimate hooligan bike. I have my '06 Sport and I can tell you, somehow keep both in the stable! Great combo.

Bummer! Do you know of anyone else lusting after a XB12S Lightning? Give'em my info - I'll pay $50 finder's fee to anyone sending me a buyer!

The Buell was "stolen" at $5499 (my reserve price), but now I can concentrate on getting a NC.

Really, it was a fair price considering the current market being suddenly flush with '04 & '05 XB12s. And, mine was a "high mileage" bike at 13,798 - nearly twice as high as the others, and it's now three "model" years old.

No regrets - just glad to be looking for a new car!
