Brian, hello I am a Mazda newbie planning my first MX-5 purchase.
On the faq I noticed that your '06 MX-5 has 16x8 wheels with 225/50/16 tires. But i don't see any wheels/tires of those sizes for sale as products. Do you have any photos or more information on that setup? Where can I look for possible options with those sizes in mind? Secondly, I love the Enkei RSM 17x7.5 +48 but:
1. Are there any tires in 225/40/17 width that exist and will fit? I don't care for the thicker look of 225/45/17.
2. I am worried that 235/40/17 may rub (do you think fender rolling would be needed in this case?). I would like to add that my use of the MX-5 would best be classified as high performance daily driver (non-racer).
I live in CA (northern) as well and have no probs driving down to San Diego to get work done. Thank you for your time and advice.
16 x8 wheels for NC
Street tires in size 235/40/17 do not rub on a 48mm offset...that's the size we are putting on these cars every week because the diameter is same as stock. That's the perfect size for the 17x8 Enkei RS+M. Here is the fitment thread for that wheel:

225/45/17 is half an inch taller than stock, still fits and works pretty well....215/45/17 is closer to stock diameter and is about ideal for the 7.5 wide choices.
Sorry, we don't sell a 16x8 for NC.
