Re: New Shipment 6UL 15x7.5 and 15x8 and 15x9

Do you prefer your Miata to LOOK fun, or actually DRIVE more fun?

Without a turbo or supercharger the best DRIVING 1.6 Miatas that I have driven are consistently on minimalist wheel and tire packages because the 1.6 is challenged for torque. Thus, for 1.6 Miata I prefer a 15x7.5 6UL with just a 195/50/15 tire. As many SCCA STS Miata 1.6 racers will tell you, that is a package that will actually be faster for the 1.6 and more fun to drive.

Thus, it won't surprise you that I suggest not going beyond the 15x8 and a 205/50/15 for your 93 Miata.....unless you happen to have 200+ hp and didn't mention it?

Ha - no, bone stock here.
I'm already running 15x7 Borbets with 195/50-15 s.Drives, which are decent, but I feel I'm already over-driving them occasionally. Was just looking for something to improve grip, but also look more aggressive, and give me a completely different look to the car to switch off with as well. So yes, I definitely want the correct/best handling I can pull off, but as I mentioned, it won't be for anything competitive, just my own blasting around the local canyons and mountains. It's not a DD, by the way, just the "toy" car.
