New KONIG Wheels....What do YOU think?

Post by Brian »

Okay folks, what do you think? These are two new 15 inch wheels we saw at SEMA this year from our friends at Konig.

The first is a very light 15x7...about 13 pounds and yet with clearance enough to fit our big brakes. I expect we will carry this one for sure.

This second one I am not as sure about....lots of "lip" which seems to appeal to our younger buyers. This one is 15x7.5 and we guess it at about 15 pounds. What do you think?

I like the first one a lot. The second one I'm not so sure about (does that mean I'm old?? :) ). Now how about some more 17x8 in anthracite or dark grey. :)

Foil and tire

Post by wclark »

I have a '91 Miata with 90k miles and am looking at wheel/tire combos.
Was considering Konig Helium, but the Foil looks great. How would either work with Kumho Ecsat AST? 195/50 or 205/50? No performance upgrades now as it is my commuter car; 46 miles a day on interstate with some weekend top down fun.

Both the Foil and Helium will work with either size tire.

Mix of pros and cons. The 205 gives slightly more ultimate grip in the corners but is slightly taller and that means slightly taller gearing and slightly slower acceleration. It is also 2 pounds heavier and that means slightly less ride quality. But, in the real world the difference between the 195 and 205 is so slight that many would not notice any difference at all.

love those Foils, I suspect the others will be quite popular for their shinny lips
