Nippon Rims 15 X 6.5

Post by larryb »

I saw these 15 X 6.5 Nippon Wheels for sale on Craigslist
He wants $260 and I think they look good. He says they're 12 lbs. I've never heard of Nippon wheels and when I posted my questions on Miatanet I was referred here, and indeed, you do sell Nippon wheels? Are they any good?

I have a 97 Miata

I mainly want to go up to 15" for better tire selection and wider width -205 over the 195. Is 6.5" too narrow?

I I rarely track - just 1 time so far.
TIA

It is a fine street wheel....similar to our various Konig choices. Not a track wheel. If serious about track days you want to start with at least a 15x7....

Thanks Brian - What else would I need - hubcentric rings seem optional from you FAQ, but do I need special lug nuts?

Stock lugs will work "okay" but you risk scratching the rims. A narrow extended length lug (like McGard Spline lugs) would be preferred.
