Enkei RP-F1 Type IIs?

Post by KRVHUGR »

I saw a picture of these at a local tire dealer who indicated 15 X 6.5 @11.2 pounds would be available at mid/end of June. The price he quoted me for one wheel would almost buy a new set of four Konigs from Goodwin Racing! Are you going to carry this wheel and if so what would your price line look like?

As your experience with the price suggests....we didn't see much point in carrying it. Not particularly light, not a size the racers will buy, and expensive for a 15x6.5. I thought it rather insulting for Enkei to call it the successor to the RP-F1. In fact, production of the RP-F1 briefly stopped to create room for the new wheel. Dealers went ballistic when we got the specs of higher price, higher weight, less favorable sizes, etc. That put the RP-F1 back in production.
