5zigen GN+ on NB

Post by longshanks23 »

Recently came across a set of 5zigen GN+, 17x7.5, 43offset.
Only $400 slightly used.
Anyone had any experience with these wheels?
Optimal tire size for NB? :?:

Way too heavy for your car. Get some nice light 15x8s with 225s and you'll be happier than a pig in %#it!

With the addition of a Rotrex SC system, would that compensate for the extra weight? Is lack of power the only reason to go with a smaller wheel. I think a 17 makes the NB look much better. I have to believe that the extra width couldn't hurt either. The GN+ is also a forged wheel so it should be strong.
What say yall'.

No, handling and braking are also affected by the lower weight. There really is plenty of information available on this topic. Pretty well established, otherwise more people would run big wheels.

Go read about the effects of unsprung weight on handling.

Well, it's done. I should be able to dial out the slight understeer the larger rubber in the back has caused with the suspension upgrade phase of my project and a performance alignment. We shall see, but I think it looks bad ass. What say you?

'Really like 5Zigens. Good choice for a classic look and a classic car, LS.

Black and gold. 'Can't go wrong with a classic ride like yours.

Longshank, what size tires did you end up going with for those 17x7.5 wheels?
