Those look nice on the car ... what is the weight of that combination?

I've seen a few photos with tow hooks on the car ... why do folks run around the streets with those on the car? They attach in seconds if you need them.

If only for looks ... doesn't seem like such a good idea from a safety point of view.

Maybe.

I've seen what a 'bent number plate' can do to a person's leg with a minor collision that they should have walked away from ... I'm pretty sure running a tow hook on the street would do a fair bit of damage, too, in even a low-speed hit.

Might end up being the wrong sort of 'conversation piece'.

The other issue, is that if you impact something, the tow hook will likely increase the damage to your car...

You already have ... 8)

I must say, it is very decent of anyone parking their car with those tow hooks in place.

They make it so much easier to tow it away for parts ...

First thing I did on returning from a track day Saturday night is remove the tow hook. I have one friend who had knee surgery to repair the damage done when he hit the hook hard. Thus, I suggest that keeping a tow hook on "for looks" is not the best idea. The bumper gives...that hook will not.
