How's a 15x8 work with 205 50 (specifically, RE-11s)

I'm used to the idea of 15x7" wheels for a 205 50, and Bridgestone lists something like 6"-7.5". I'm sure it fits, but does it handle well? I don't want to look like one of those kids in a VW with tires 5 sizes too small for the wheels ("stretch" I think they call it).

It just seems like a lightweight 15x8" 6ul would be better than a 13-14# 15x7.

THanks

It handles great, a 205/50 is an 8 inch wide tire and on 8 an inch rim that gives max support to the tire sidewall for a fully stabilized contact patch. The result is sharper turn-in response and more ultimate grip from that size.

I have a deployment coming up when I am fully healed up and want to get in some events in. I am going to do a track day and 3 autox events. I am really just learning how to drive and am not worried about what class I am in in the autox events. Here you say 15x8 with 205 50 15's will have more overall grip, bigger contact patch, and sharper turn in. I really want new wheels and tires before this event and do not want to wait for 6UL's any more. So my question is how much better will a 15x8 with 205 50's then say the 15x7 team dynamics wheel with same tire? I mean I am new driver, other than intake and exhaust motor is stock, and I have FM stage 2 kit with GC.

I found an article on this and got my answer, and went even bigger and will be patient and wait for 6UL 15x9's
