What am I getting into with this offset?

I think I've finally found the wheels I want. The wheels themselves are 17x8's and I can get an offset of either +42 or +47.

My question is....What am I getting into with the +42 offset? Would the fender roll I would need be similar to that found on cars with 17x9+45?

The 47 is an easy fit for 225mm wide or less tire. The 42 may indeed require fender roll depending on tire size. If those wheels are over 18 pounds, save yourself the pain and get a different choice!

Brian, I was looking to go with 235/40/17's.

Im lowered at about 13.5" all around. With the +42 and a roll in the rear should I be good?

I know staggered fitment is shunned upon, but what about running a 17x8 +47 in the front, and a 17x8 +42 in the rear?

Yes, with a fender roll that should work.
