Enkei RPO3 on 2006-2007

Post by Brian »

Here is our (original) track setup...did it because it works but they do look pretty hot. These are 17 pound 17x8 Enkei RPO3 that you will find in our online store for the 2006 Miata and Mazda3, Mazda6 and RX8 fitment. They are mounted here with TOYO RA1 race tires. This is the Enkei "black chrome" SBC finish and it is not chrome. Real chrome adds weight. Here, Enkei starts with the standard wheel and polished it to a mirror shine and then applies a black mirror powder coat. The result is LIGHTER than the standard finish by over half a pound which is why we went with these. All ready for the next track day!

That's nice.... I bet it would look even better on a Galaxy Grey car with that SBC finish.

Wanted to run RA1 and often the listed size does not tell the whole story.

In other words, the RA1 in 235/40/17 is actually just as wide as the 245/45/16.....and yet shorter and lighter. I wanted to keep the gearing as short as possible for a given width.

Back from a weekend at the track. We used our EASTWOOD fender rolling tool to make sure we had lots of clearance in the rear. The rears cleared the beefy TOYO RA1 race tires with no complaint.

However, the front was a different story. Although the front lips are rolled already from the factory...there is a small portion that is not rolled and we did get a mild rub there with this combination! So, will be rolling that section immediately so the car is ready for MazFest next weekend.

JS+M?

Post by tpschar »

Brian,

Any pics of the JS+M on an NC? I'm wondering in particular how the graphite would look on a Galaxy Gray...

Any more pictures of the SBC wheels? Maybe a full side shot of the car and a good closeup of the wheel?

Congrats on getting hitched!
