So, on a 90 Miata, SFM JV6 swap, BC Racing coil-overs run at max height adjustment which should drop me under 1 in., Torsen 3.90 rear. With 30 mm wide fender flares, if I run 235/40R17s on 17x8 rims, what offset will help fill the flares without rub.

Sorry, that 17 inch combo does not play on the 90 miata, just too much diameter at 24.3 inches. The way to wider rubber on the ground for a fast 90 Miata is with wider 15 inch. Go 15x10 since you got flares with 245/40/15 tires. Below is our Global Time Attack winning 90 with over 300 HP E85 fuel LFX V6, beat EVERYTHING this year on street tires from Porsche to Vette to Viper....and did it on 15 inch. See our new 15x10 Konig Dekagram in particular.

How about if I maintain full ride height? I am looking for an effective gearing drop with a larger dia. tire. Fenders will be cut open under flares.....
