I'm strongly considering the Storm S1s for the ND2 I'll be buying. Since I'll only use this set of wheels and tires for street driving--I'll get a different set if I get back into STR--I am considering the 16x7.5 +35 and 17x7 +35. What's the widest tire size you recommend running on each of these sizes without rolling the fenders? I'll probably choose 205s in a Max Performance Summer tire, but I'm wondering if wider is an option. I see you use the 17x7+40 wheels for 225 on your CS setup, so I'm guessing that won't fit.

Also, I have a subjective question: I'll be running mild rates (400/225) and the Progress bars. For an aggressive street setup, do you recommend 16x7.5 +35 and 205/50-16 or 17x7 +35 and 205/45-17? It seems that the tire selection is much better in 17s. I hesitate to go all the way to Extreme Performance tires, since I have to deal with standing water sometimes.

Thanks.
2009, STR & DD. 1995, HPDE. 2004 MSM, sold. 2010 Mazda3, hers.

I really like 16 for street, particularly for Miata that has good suspension setup instead of floppy factory bits. And I usually don't want to 'over tire' it, 205mm is good. But on supercharged RF that is my wife's daily we have 16x8 Dekagram and 225/50 Continental ECS and that works well.
