17x7.5/+48 Enkei RPF-1's on my NC

Post by jaball77 »

I got my new wheels and tires today...

17x7.5 Enkei RPF-1's with 225-45-17 Bridgestone RE-01-R's. The wheels are about 2.5 lbs lighter than stock, but the tires are about 5 lbs heavier, so the combo gains about 2.5 lbs per corner. Not too bad.

I like the look and the fit... Looks like 235 on a +48 will be CLOSE....

My car is on the MazdaSpeed/Eibach springs, and MazdaSpeed/Tokico shocks, so it's about 1.5" lower than stock.

Enjoy!

Any ideas on alternatives to the $140/set Enkei center caps? Is there such a thing as a "universal" 73mm center cap? My hubs are rusty and ugly. :(

There is no standard cap size in the industry. But, it is possible that some of the plastic caps out there fit this rim. I wish Enkei would just make us a plastic cap for this wheel but instead they made that expensive carbon fiber and metal cap.

Brian, is it ok to run 235/40 on the same wheel, 17x7.5 Enkei RPF-1's?

Yes, can do a 235/40/17 on that. Ideally that size is better on one of our 17x8 choices but it will work fine on the 17x7.5. See first page of the main RP-F1 thread for pics of Toyo RA1s in that size on this same wheel on a grey colored NC.

Brian, have you ever considered ordering the 17x8 or 9 with 45 mm offset from Japan?

I actually did order the size and was going to use it for track days but a Subaru WRX guy bought them just days before I was going to do the install.

So, I think it certainly can be done but assume a fender roll as part of the install.

We would send them there if you really want....but they are made in Japan. I have to think you can get them cheaper where you are.
