Got our NC!! Working on figuring out what fits for track days. Just for experimentation purposes we tried on our RX8 street wheels which are SSRs in 18x8.5 and 42mm offset. Makes it look much like the old Monster Miata body kits.
Results: Although I was initially concerned about NC clearance and 8 inch wide rims it looks like there will be enough room if the offset is just right. These 42mm offset rims were out just a little too much and it appears that a compromise between factory offset and these wheels will work best....about 48 or 50mm. Plenty of room to the inside...not much room to the outside.

Here are some other shots showing why these 18x8.5 at 42mm offset are really too far out of the fender lips...it would be a little different story at about 50mm offset.

These shots make it look like the rears fit better. They do in the sense that the rears are more tucked under the body better but it is actually the rears that rub on big dips! The reason is that the front NC fenders are already rolled from the factory and the rears are not. It appears that if the rears were rolled then these wheels would clear the lips under full suspension compression (given the apparent arc of suspension travel and camber curve).
Nonetheless, this experiment suggests that ideal for wider than stock rims will be closer to stock offset for 8 inch width track rims and we intend to experiment with 8inch wide rims in the 48-52mm offset range as our first track setup.
