Toyo R1R

Post by zooki »

I see you can now get the R1R. I am considering getting these from you, but I see that toyo states these have steel reinforcement in the sidewall and are 20 lbs. Can you confirm that :?: I know the same size in the T1R is 17 lbs or less. One of the things I like about the Toyos is the weight, so I was surprized to see the 20 lb spec. Seems like a great track/street dual purpose option since the Azenis is not made in 195/50. Thanks

TOYO listed weights are usually pretty accurate...so I assume the R1R weights are accurate.

Brian,

Do you have any idea when the 225/45-15 R1R will be available?

After reading about all of the topics on this forum I mounted the Toyo R1R 235/40/17 on my OZ Ultraleggera 17x8 ET 48, fully confident that the package would fit. It does not. Turning fast or speeding over bumps makes the rear tires'rub the rear fender....So despite all other forum members experiences this combo is a little too much. What should I do? Has anyone rolled their fenders? I'm concerned about damaging the fender rim and the paint. I have not been able to find anyone in my neighbourhood who is capable of the job. The guy who sold the tires suggested using a hammer ?! No way.
