I have a stock 2007 mazda3. I don't want to upgrade the whole suspension, I just want to reduce the understeer a little. I seen posts on the web saying that you can just upgrade the rear sway bar. Is that safe? I don't want my car to get dangerous in the rain etc. I thought that sway bars are usually design as a matched set.

You can upgrade just the rear....folks do just the rear all the time. As for safe, I would say that depends more on the driver but certainly there will be much less understeer.
