Flashing a 2009 Rx8 r3?

Post by REVITHI »

Hello Everyone,

Does anyone know a place on the east coast where a 2009 Rx8 r3 can be dyno tune? This car has some mods to it, RB CAI w/DUCT, RB HEADERS, RB MIDPIPE, RB CAT BACK and SR Racing under drive pulleys. The performance on the car now is AWSOME, but the ECU is still stock and it does not recognize these up grades so it limits the car on speed, RPM, HP, Torque, etc. RB does not offer (YET) a flash for this year and model, how sad!!!! or perhaps elsewhere where I can send them my ECU and have it tuned? Thanks

I would ask with Mike Mann of MOTO-EAST. They don't do the RX8 as far as I know....but might be able to tell you who to talk with back east.

Hi Brian

Any news with mike mann of moto-east, concerning the 2009 ecu flash?

I have a good question I have factory 19" wheels (weights 21 lbs, about 46lbs with tire) they handle great. I was thinking about reducing the weight on the wheels to about 15.5 lbs by going with Enkei Racing RPF1 17", what will be a good size tire other than a 255/40R17? What about performance will I sacrifice alot?

I believe Brian was saying he would ask Moto-East if he were you. He isn't planning to ask on your behalf.

But I did ask Mike and he is not doing RX8 flashes. Thus, I would talk with Racing Beat. We used the Racing Beat flash in our RX8 and it worked great...

Yeah, they are west coast but that's a pretty cheap overnight by fed ex given that the ECU weighs less than a pound.

Hi Brian,

It's been a while but I finally got my 2009 Rx8 R3 Flash by SpeedOne out here in PA. Results are GREAT for a NA. 212 RWHP & 142 Torque. I have uploaded the results from the DynoJet.
